Reception Information for
Incoming Trainees
Congratulations on being accepted for an IAESTE placement in the UK.
We hope you have a successful stay both in terms of your work placement and the fantastic opportunities ahead of you which are an integral part of living and working in another country. You will meet many new people, not just from the UK, but from several of the other countries participating in the IAESTE exchange. Together with your new friends you will have the chance to exchange ideas and learn about our country.
You should now view/print the IAESTE UK Reception Booklet which tells you everything you need to know about the preparations you need to make before coming and useful information that will help you during your stay. It is essential that you read this, particularly if you need to apply for entry clearance as we do not want your application to be refused or you to be turned away when you arrive. There are forms you need to complete and return in order for us to take the next steps in booking your accommodation and confirming your placement. The booklet should contain everything you need to know but if you have questions about something that is not covered then please email us and we will do our best to help.
The booklet also contains information about the IAESTE UK summer programme and the various events planned throughout June, July and August. Separate social programmes will be organised in Scotland, Northern Ireland and England and Wales. We hope that you will enjoy the many opportunities to meet people, experience our culture and way of life and make lots of friends from all over the world.
There is also an eGroup that most students are part of, enabling you to get in touch with all the IAESTE trainees in your area. If you have not already been added to the eGroup then email us and we will add you.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
