I am a final year Civil Engineer at the University of Edinburgh and I completed an IAESTE placement to Iceland for 3 months. I conducted research into roof design at the Icelandic building Research Institute in Reykjavik.

I learnt lots about engineering research, and working in a different country and culture. IAESTE Iceland organised many fun events around Iceland, to festivals and many barbeque parties! While in Iceland I also joined the Icelandic ultimate Frisbee team, a running group at work and completed the Reykjavik marathon. I also was successful in winning the UK trainee of the year award this year.

My IAESTE placement was awesome and I would thoroughly recommend it!
